
BIOGRAPHY
Shane has more than three decades of experience in law enforcement, prosecutions, and training. As a police officer, Shane was a qualified prosecutor working in various courts throughout Queensland specialising in prosecuting offences against the person and in particular offences of a sexual nature.
He was a specialist in Criminal Law responsible for the development of police curriculum for supervisors and managers within the Queensland Police Service, lecturing at the Queensland Police Academy and Griffith University from time to time.
In addition to his policing service, Shane also spent nine (9) years with TAFE Queensland as an ICT Systems Coordinator responsible for the management of student and learning management systems within the TAFE network and further afield. He possesses an intricate knowledge of the workings of information networks and ICT systems.
He is a highly skilled communicator specifically in respect of negotiation, mediation and workshop facilitation. With degrees in Education and training and postgraduate qualifications in Management, he has consistently consulted with the Queensland Police Service Education and Training Command in respect of curriculum and educational design.
With over 30 years of experience in policing, teaching, IT, business ownership, and change management, Shane also contributes to Policing Insight in the UK. He delivers age-appropriate content to diverse audiences, from children to professionals, and can present to both small groups and large auditoriums.
Shane is an ‘empty nester’ and lives in Ipswich, Queensland.
